The wild jumbo prawn stands out for its enormous size and powerful image. In taste it is very similar to the conventional tiger prawn, but its versatility in the kitchen is greater. It is used for a multitude of stews, and its size allows for more varied preparations in the kitchen. Gastronomically it has much more value especially in Asia (where there are many farms for its cultivation, and where the growing haute cuisine demands it as opposed to the farmed one) and the Middle East (where its size and flavour are appreciated), however, it is also highly appreciated in the countries of the Mediterranean coast, as well as in Portugal.
